In Versuch die Zeit kurz anzuhalten (Try to Briefly Stop Time) meditative landscape shots are interweaved with home videos from the archive of my grandfather, who was passionate about filming and taking pictures.
In the small things aside in these recordings, a past world opens up – and with it, the illusion of a reunion with the deceased.
A quiet reflection on filming and photographing, and on what we leave behind for posterity in the process.
